Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate).

Ordered pairs are located on a a coordinate plane. In this worksheet, you will identify the x and y coordinates of the points and the quadrant that they are located in.
Core Standard: 5.G.A.1
Practice with a coordinate place. Plots points. Use points on the plane to draw shapes and find the distance (vertical and horizontal) between two points.
Core Standard: 5.G.A.1
Practice using a coordinate plane or grid. Learn about origin, x and y-axis. Write the coordinates of plotted points and plot the points for the given x and y coordinates.
Core Standard: 5.G.A.1
Given the coordinates of an order pair, find out the quadrant of the point. Practice locating and marking the ordered pair on coordinate plane in this worksheet.
Core Standard: 5.G.A.1
Using ordered pairs of integers, learn how to move on a coordinate plane to locate the ordered pair in this worksheet.
Core Standard: 5.G.A.1
Explain how you will locate a ordered pair on a coordinate plane staring at origin and then moving left or right and up and down.
